Andy Bennett
Andy is the CLIK Industrial Facilities Manager. He joined CLIK in 2007
after working as a beamline scientist on the X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy Stations at Daresbury.
He has also been involved in extensive X-ray powder diffraction
studies.
Laura Swan
Laura is the Technical Sales Officer for Daresbury Laboratory and is responsible
for the administration of the technical sales office.
Paul Vernon
Paul is the Head of Sales and Marketing at CLIK. Paul's career started with commercial finance and has covered medical and laboratory sales and marketing, establishment of international distributor networks and the setting up and running of early stage high-tech companies. Since 2002, when Paul joined CLIK, he has been responsible for spinning out a number of companies and has acted as Chief Executive for both L3 Technology and Microvisk.
Graham Bushnell-Wye
Graham leads the Structural
and Environmental Chemistry College at Daresbury and has 20 years experience
of resolving material structures using X-ray diffraction.
The facilities are now at the point where crystal structures can be determined
without 'crystals'.
Greg Diakun
Greg Diakun has worked for over 20 years in the field of synchrotron radiation.
He has expertise in small angle X-ray scattering
and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Greg is head
of the Materials
and Engineering College.
Pierre Rizkallah
Pierre has been working in the protein crystallography group at Daresbury since 1998 . His interests include research programs about
snake venoms, monocot plant lectins, and lobster crustacyanins. He also developed
the use of Xe gas as a heavy atom derivative, and longer wavelength X-rays for
accurate recording of the S anomalous signal for ab initio structure solution.
J Günter Grossmann
Günter's background is in physics, but through the use of synchrotron X-rays
at the Daresbury SRS and its application to biological molecules in solution,
he became interested in biophysics. His primary expertise lies in the conformational
analysis of proteins and their complexes by solution scattering techniques.
As a member of Daresbury's Molecular
Biophysics Group and several national as well as international collaborations,
he is actively involved in structural biology research projects. Due to his
responsibility for a X-ray scattering station at Daresbury and awareness of
the potential of the technique, he is also attracted to structural investigations
in other science disciplines.
Mark Roberts
Mark has worked at Daresbury since 1998 and has extensive experience in powder
diffraction, a technique used for many DARTS customers, especially
in the chemicals sector.
John R Helliwell
John is a Science Adviser to DARTS. He has 30 years experience in synchrotron
radiation and crystallography. His research has concentrated on the development and application of new methods for the crystal
structure determination of molecules of biological and chemical importance.
In the last 8 years he has also carried over the new SR 'white beam Laue' methods
to innovate new neutron protein crystallography applications at the Institut
Laue Langevin in Grenoble. He has been Professor of Structural
Chemistry at the University of Manchester since 1989 and is a Joint Appointee
with CCLRC.
Gary Murray
Gary is the Sales Contract Supervisor for Daresbury Laboratory and is responsible
for the administration and issuing of DARTS Agreements.
Clément Bassens
Clément is our life science specialist Technical Sales Manager. Clément worked for several biotechnology companies at various stages of implementation, both in Scandinavia and in the United Kingdom. Clément holds an MSc in bioengineering from the Brussels University (ULB) and is currently studying for a marketing degree (CIM).
Anthony Cooper
Anthony is our engineering and materials specialist Technical Sales Manager. Anthony has a PhD in Micro and Nanotechnology sponsored by BAE SYSTEMS. Whilst perusing his studies Anthony also worked as a consultant to various organisations and companies at the busy period of the Euro coin introduction across Europe. Having completed his studies and post doctoral work, Anthony worked as a Senior Process Engineer for Qudos Technology, a high tech company specialising in the development and prototype production of micro and nanotechnology products.
Gavin Tracey
Gavin is our vacuum specialist Technical Sales Manager. Gavin undertook a Masters degree in Vacuum Science which led to his position as a Technical Sales person (South UK) for Vacuum Generators. Gavin maintained the company’s largest single account whilst increasing revenue and profitability within his territory.
